The 1944 PCL Champions Los Angeles Angels have Cece Garroitt, Ray Prim, Red Adams, Rip Russell, Johnny Moore, Charlie English, Ed Sauer, Johnny Ostrowski, Roy Smalley, Jorge Comellas, Dick Conger, Ted Norbert etc.. San Diego has Debs Garms, Dick Gyselman, Lou Vezilich, Swede Jensen, Pepper Martin, Vern Kennedy, Al Olson, Tony Criscola, Ed Vitalich etc.. Has one coupon cut out, excellent condition otherwise. 5. 1946 San Francisco Seals vs Sacramento Solons Program. At San Francisco. Very nice 24 page program. The 1946 Seals are among the greatest minor league teams of all time with many stars back from the service. Larry Jansen won 31 games. The Seals also had Ferris Fain, Bill Werle, Cliff Melton, Jack Tobin, Bernie Uhalt, Roy Nicely, Hugh Luby, Vince DiMaggio, Dino Restelli, Lefty O'Doul, Neill Sheridan, Sal Taormina, Al Lien, Bones Sanders, Ted Jennings, Joe Brovia, Del Young etc... Sacramento had Tony Freitas, Joe Marty, Steve Mesner, Alex Kampouris etc.. The score page is loose at the staples and has a 2 inch tear in the center. The score page has a Joe DiMaggio's restaurant ad on the Solons score page and a Tony Lazzeri's restaurant ad on the Seals score page. Excellent condition. Ex+ $40

8. 1948 Seattle Rainiers vs Oakland Oaks Program. At Seattle. 16 page program with Hillis Layne on the cover. Has photos and bio's of Herb Carpel and John Gorsica. Oakland won the 1948 PCL championship guided by Casey Stengel with it's famous "nine old men" including Ernie Lombardi, Billy Raimondi, Nick Etten, Dario Lodigiani, Brooks Holder, Mel Duezabou, Maurice Van Robays, Les Scarsella, George Metkovich, Billy Martin, Merl Combs and Cookie Lavagetto. Seattle has Jo Jo White, Rollie Hemsley, Hillis Layne, Earl Rapp, Neill Sheridan, Tony York, Johnny O'Neil, Mickey Grasso, Lou Novikoff, Guy Fletcher, Bud Beasley, Herm Besse etc.. The program has a center fold and a hole on the front cover that goes through to the score page on the inside front cover. Otherwise condition is excellent. Vg+ $25

9. 1948 National League vs American League Major League All-Stars Exhibition Game Program, at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. This scorecard/program was originally for an exhibition game between the Giants and Indians however the person who scored the program wrote in National and American League All-Star line-ups that included Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Vern Stephens, Red Rolfe, Tom Henrich, Charlie Keller, Billy Herman and Vic Raschi for the American League and Stan Hack, Jackie Robinson, Stan Musial, Al Dark, Gil Hodges, Bobby Thomson, Ernie Lombardi and Barney McCosky for the National League. The Nationals won 8-3. Has a 2" tear on the bottom border. The spine is split with 3 pieces of vintage tape. Vg $35

10. 1949 Seattle Rainiers vs San Francisco Seals Program. At Seattle. Nice 16 page program with 22 game winner Charley Schanz on the cover. Los Angeles had Chuck "The Rifleman" Connors, Gene Baker, Eddie Chandler, Ron Northey, Ralph Hamner, Don Watkins, Les Peden etc.. The Stars had Chuck Stevens, Frank Kelleher, Gene Handley, Pinky Woods, Ben Wade, Jack Salveson, Mike Sandlock etc.. Nicely scored. 17. 1951 San Francisco Seals vs Seattle Rainiers Program, At San Francisco. Lefty O'Doul's Seals versus Rogers Hornsby's Rainiers. Seattle won the PCL title with Jim Rivera, Granny Hamner, Walt Judnich, Marv Grissom and Emil Verban. San Francisco had Con Dempsey, Lew Burdette, Dario Lodigiani etc.. 1951 was Lefty O'Doul last season with the Seals, he went on to manage San Diego, Oakland and Vancouver. The program has a light vertical fold. Very nice condition. Scored. Ex/Mt $30

18. 1952 Hollywood Stars vs Sacramento Solons Program, At Hollywood. Very nice 22 page program. The Stars had Chuck Stevens, Carlos Bernier, Frank Kelleher, Gene Handley, Pinky Woods, Mike Sandlock etc.. The Solons have Hall of Famer Joe Gordon at 2nd base plus Mike McCormick, Bob Dillenger, Joe Marty, Bill Glynn, Chet Johnson etc... Nicely scored. Outstanding condition. Ex/Mt+ $30

19. 1952 Hollywood Stars vs Pittsburgh Pirates Exhibition Game Program, At Hollywood. Nice 4 page scorecard. The Pirates were the Stars parent club and were in town for an exhibition game at the end of spring training. The Pirates had a whopping 54 player on their roster, many of whom never played with the Pirates or in the big leagues during their career. The Pirates had Ralph Kiner, Joe Garagiola, Bob Friend, George Metkovich etc.. The Stars had 37 players on their spring training roster including Chuck Stevens, Carlos Bernier, Frank Kelleher, Gene Handley, Mike Sandlock etc.. Nicely scored. Has light creasing. 20. 1952 Los Angeles Angels vs Oakland Oaks Program, At Los Angeles. Very nice 4 page score card. The Angels had Chuck "The Rifleman" Connors, Gene Baker, Eddie Chandler, Ron Northey, Ralph Hamner, Don Watkins, Les Peden etc. The Oaks were managed by Mel Ott and won 104 games in his final season as a manager and had Sam Chapman, Al Gettel, Tookie Gilbert, Spider Jorgenson, Bill Glynn etc.. 28. 1956 Portland Beavers Yearbook. 60 pages. The nicest Beavers yearbook ever produced. Commemorates Vaughn Street stadium which was been torn down in 1956 and also commemorates Multnomah Stadium which the Beavers were moving into in 1956. Has many photos of both stadiums. Also has 31 different Beavers team photos from 1903-1955 including a full page photo of the 1945 PCL Championship team. Has photo's, bio's and stat's for every player on the 1956 team. Shows the Beavers spring training facilities in Southern California. Has photos of many of the all time Beaver greats. The yearbook has 2 vertical folds and the 2 center pages are loose at the staples. Overall terrific condition. Ex/Mt $75

1. Autographed 1947 Oakland Oaks vs San Francisco Seals Program. At Oakland. Autographed on the front cover in pencil by Bill Raimondi, Gene Bearden and Mel Duezabou. Two great teams loaded with stars. Cover has tear in upper right corner. Nice condition otherwise. Ex+ $50

2. 1949 Hollywood Stars vs Oakland Oaks Program Autographed by Chuck Stevens and Jim Baxes, At LA. The Stars 1st baseman Chuck Stevens and 3rd baseman Jim Baxes boldly autographed the front of the program. Stevens played in the PCL for 9 seasons and played 3 seasons with the St. Louis Browns for 3 seasons. He missed 3 full seasons to active duty in the South Pacific during WW2. Baxes played 7 seasons in the PCL and played with the World Champion Dodgers in 1959. The Stars also had 1949 PCL MVP Irv Noren, Frank Kelleher, Jack Salveson, Pinky Woods, Gene Handley, Mike Sandlock etc.. Chuck Dressen's Oaks had Cookie Lavagetto, Billy Martin, Earl Rapp, Artie Wilson etc.. Has light spine wear and a repaired one inch tear on the right edge of the cover, otherwise very nice condition. 3. 1950 Hollywood Stars vs San Francisco Seals Program Autographed by Cliff Dapper, At Hollywood. Stars catcher Cliff Dapper boldly autographed the front of the program. Dapper played with the Stars for 5 seasons. He played with Brooklyn in 1942 and is the only player to have ever been traded for a broadcaster (He was traded for Ernie Harwell in 1948). The Stars had Chuck Stevens, Frank Kelleher, Murray Franklin, Jim Baxes, Ed Sauer, Jack Salveson, Pinky Woods, Ben Wade, Mike Sandlock etc.. Lefty O'Doul's Seals had Tommy Bridges, Cliff Melton, Joe Grace, Brooks Holder, Les Fleming, Chet Johnson, Don Lang, Roy Nicely, Ray Orteig, Roy Partee, Neill Sheridan, Jack Tobin, Elmer Singleton, Nini Tornay, Don White, Con Dempsey, Dario Lodigiani etc.. 12. Autographed 1952 Los Angeles Angels vs Seattle Rainiers Program, Boldly autographed by 3 Seattle players including Al Lyons, K Chorlton and Al Widmar. Al Lyons was a legit 2 way player. He was an excellent power hitting outfielder and pitcher. In the minors he hit 159 home runs with a .269 batting average and was 47-33 as a pitcher including records of 8-2, 10-5 and 8-4 in the PCL. In the big leagues he batted .293 and was 3-3 as a pitcher in parts of 4 seasons. Superb condition. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Ex/Mt $50

The final tally is displayed with Suhr receiving 5882 votes, Joe Sprinz receiving 5401 voted and Frenchy Uhalt third with 3976 votes. Gus Suhr autographed the ad notating S.F. Jack Graham Autographed 1951 Yearbook Photo. 7x9 1951 San Diego Padres yearbook page nicely signed and personalized. Graham led the PCL with 48 home runs in 1948 and missed nearly 2 months due to a bean ball injury. He was a lock for 60 plus home runs that year! No tears or creases. 1959 Carl Thomas San Diego Padres Postcard. Sent to San Diego Padres GM Ralph Kiner with Thomas' address so Kiner can send him his contract. Signed by Thomas who split 1959 between San Diego and Indianapolis and played with Cleveland in 1960. Nice condition. Ex/Mt $25 sold

1960 Tacoma Giants Ticket Stub, 5/1/60. The San Francisco Seals moved to Phoenix in 1958 then moved to Tacoma in 1960 in a brand new ballpark that featured seats, light standards & scoreboard from razed Seals stadium. The 1960 Tacoma Giants had several old Seals players including Bill Werle, Sal Taormina etc.. but more impressively had numerous future Giants stars including hall of famers Willie McCovey, Juan Marichal & Gaylord Perry. 1967 Lefty O'Doul 70th Birthday Telegram. Telegram sent to Lefty O'Doul wishing him a happy 70th birthday from Atlanta Braves G.M. and former PCL manager Paul Richards. Richards and O'Doul were teammates with the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants for 3 years during the 1930's. An excellent piece. Ex+ $35

1942 Seattle Rainiers Team Photo. 7 1/4 x 10 1/4. The Rainiers were the reigning 1939, 1940 and 1941 PCL champions and had a great team including Paul Gregory, Hal Turpin, Dick Gyselman, Earl Torgeson, Dick Barrett, Syl Johnson, Ed Carnett, Dewey Soriano, Jo Jo White, Al Libke. Very nice condition with tack holes in corners. Ex/Mt $50

1946 San Francisco Seals Team Photo. 10x18. Very nice large photo. One of the greatest teams in PCL and minor league history. Frenchy Bordagaray, ONL. The "White-Out ball". Frenchy applied White-Out on the sweet spot to obscure his first attempt) and nicely signed a side panel on his second attempt. Frenchy played with the Sacramento Solons for 4 seasons (1931-34) before embarking on an 11 year big league career where he topped a .300 batting average 3 times. Vg/Ex $35

Cece Carlucci, OPCL. Noted: "Mr. Ump, PCL HOF 2003". Umpired on same crew as Jack Powell (umpired since 1910's) and later Emmett Ashford (first black Minor and Major League umpire). Carlucci umpired in PCL from 1950-61 and is member of Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame. Light bleeding. Ex/Mt $50

Emmett Ashford Autographed 5x7 Photo. "Ash" crossed the color line 3 times as the first African American umpire in the Minor Leagues (in 1951), the Pacific Coast League (in 1954) and the Major Leagues (in 1966). Ash umpired for 12 seasons in the PCL from 1954-65 and was the PCL's head umpire from 1963-65. He is a potential Hall of Famer and his autographs are rare. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Bill Raimondi Autographed Catcher's Mitt, unendorsed 1940's-50's Spalding catcher's mitt. Bill Raimondi caught for 21 seasons in the Pacific Coast League from 1932-53. He nicely autographed this 1950's softball mitt and noted: "PCL 1932-53", very nice condition, great display. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Ex/Mt $65

Ted Williams Baseball Glove Autographed by 3 Pacific Coast Leaguers. Large 1960's Ted Williams model glove beautifully autographed by PCL Hall of Famer umpire Cece Carlucci as well as Oaks pitcher and Stanford announcer Bob Murphy and Solons pitcher Bud Watkins. The glove is in very nice condition. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Ex/Mt $55

1950's Baseball Glove Autographed by 1959 San Diego Padres and 1959 Chatanooga Lookouts. 1950's Denkert Hank Thompson model glove autographed by 9 PCL and International League plyers. The San Diego players include John Briggs, Mike De Le Hoz, Dick Stigman and Al Jones. Chatanooga players include Al Sima, Vern Morgan, Ray Holton, Don Damiano and manager Red Marion. Bill Raimondi Autographed Bat. Easily one of the 10 greatest PCL players of all time. Played catcher in the PCL for 21 seasons (1932-53). Raimondi was with Cincinnati for the 1936 season but sat out the entire season with an injury. Raimondi also noted: (PCL 1932- PCL 53). Modern pro game used bat with hairline handle crack. 34". 1952 Clarence Rowland Signed Pacific Coast League Document. Informs all Pacific Coast League teams that Hollywood Stars pitcher Warren Sandel was waived. Sandel played in the PCL in 1940-1946-1952 with Sacramento and Hollwood. 1952 would be his last season. Ex/Mt $40

1963 San Diego Padres Letter Accompanying Bud Zipfel's Playing Contract. Signed by San Diego GM and former Yankee great George Selkirk. Ex/Mt $30
